“I can’t thank you enough for last Wednesday. We had so many compliments about the service and the way you conducted it. It was so memorable for all the many people who attended. Again, my heartfelt thanks.”
– Mr L.R.

“Thank you so much for all you did to make N’s service so special. So many people remarked afterwards that it was exactly right and just what he would have enjoyed – perhaps he did who knows?
Some of those who watched online have also contacted us, with their thanks for feeling included.
Your input with the planning was much appreciated, as although we had some ideas, you were able to make them practical for the setting and took a lot of work off our shoulders by liaising with the funeral director over the details.
Once again, many thanks from all of us.”– Mr B.B.

“I have to admit that I could not open your envelope for a few days. Thank you so much for the full funeral service script. It is lovely and I am so pleased with it. Also thank you for the heart of wildflowers. I will plant them in our garden and celebrate N’s life when they flower. Life is still very hard and I miss him so much but thank you very much for making his day so special.”
- Mrs M.G.

“Firstly, from R and I, thank you so much for all you did for Friday’s service, it really felt like a wonderful tribute to D, and your warmth and support were invaluable, so thank you for everything. I understand how hard and strange your job must be at the moment, but all we could see was compassion, warmth and a real safe pair of hands keeping it together, so thank you and thanks for the script, we will keep it as a treasure.”
- Mrs S.H.

“Thank you so much again for yesterday. I couldn’t believe how seamlessly and beautifully you put it all together! I’m so glad it was yourself who carried out the service because it was exactly as I imagined it to be. Your calm nature and presence was wonderful. Thank you again.”

“Hi Susan, you gave the eulogy so much life, you made it so personal. I could say so many words, but none of them have the sentiment I want to convey, other than Thank you so much. You made the words so heart felt and meaningful. From our whole family, thank you so much.”
- Mr G.H.

“Thank you so much. You definitely brought a happier side to the service which was not only uplifting but a sidestep from the norm which is just what we as a family we’re looking for … so thank you. Keep doing a grand job …”

What is a Celebrant?

Sometimes, people assume that all celebrants are Humanists. This is not the case for Independent Civil Celebrants, such as me. Some may have a faith, but this doesn’t influence what we do. My sole aim is to ensure that you have the perfect ceremony for you, whatever that may include. Today in our multi-cultural world, people come from a diverse variety of backgrounds, traditions, cultures, beliefs and faiths. I want to ensure that whatever you want to celebrate, your ceremony truly honours and celebrates the people involved. I am passionate about what I do and care deeply about making your ceremony a perfect and memorable occasion.
What does that mean for you?
For weddings, celebrants differ from registrars because we can conduct your ceremony wherever you wish. A registrar can only work in venues that are licenced and can not include any religious or spiritual content. However, we can’t do the legalities – yet. We enable you to celebrate in a location of your choice, a stately home, a forest, in a castle, on a clifftop, or on your own property. Yours is the only ceremony we will do that day, so you won’t feel rushed. Importantly, we meet you in advance, to really get to know you, understand your wishes and what makes you tick, so your ceremony will be as unique as you are.
For funerals, civil celebrants can and will include religion in the ceremony, a humanist celebrant will not. Some people who are not religious like to have The Lord’s Prayer; it gives them a feeling of comfort and tradition. Some like to include hymns, and that’s just fine. The time we spend with you and the help and guidance we provide can really make a difference at one of the most difficult times of your life.
I promise to work together with you to create a ceremony that truly reflects you, or your loved ones, ideas, values and personality, to tell your unique story in a genuinely inclusive ceremony to treasure forever, whatever occasion you wish to celebrate.
